You should go with a Pro-M from Pro Flow. Not only are they cheaper, they work better with the Apten chips that are frequently offered to board members at discounted rates. The Maf sells for about $225 - 250. You can get it from Explorer Express but other companies may sell it for less. It pays to research.

I put one on my 90 ranger 4.0L and to honest that was the only mod of the few that I have that made no noticable difference to me. If you plan on adding a bunch of bolt on's i'm sure it would benfit in some way. By itself probably not.

Mr XLT! Did you disconnect the battery so the computer would remap the sensor? I did this after installing my hedders and it made a big difference.

I did dissconnect the battery for about 20 min. I didn't feel anything. Not to say there was no benefit, I just didn't feel it.

I did however feel the BBK throttle body I put on last Friday. That was a great mod with an improvement in throttle response. Off the line acceration is awesome unitl it hits athe wall from 40mph-on.

If a person could wait and get the throttle body, Maf, intake, headers, exhaust and chip at the same time it would really be a noticeable difference! I know I'm not that patient!!

You have to realize MONMIX that 1st gen trucks like mine came with a small diameter MAF sensor tube. So, adding an aftermarket MAF sensor helps with the larger tube alone, not to mention the electronics...

On my truck it made a little difference, but not as much per dollar as the other mods. Do MAF sensor last.

You have a 2nd gen and so you would benefit less since your stock MAF sensor tube is large diameter to begin with. Still I a worthwhile mod for the electronics alone, but among the last mods I would do. I don't know if you have it but the TB is much more bang for the buck.
