You don't have a 4r44e, you have a 4r55e. There are kits made specifically for the 4r55e, as I purchased one for my 96.

Hmm... Well the transmission places reciept says 4r44e on it..

The direct answer to your opening question is an obvious no. Each transmission you list is different. However in the case of the 4R44 and 4R55 and the 5R55 those transmissions are all cousins. A shift correction kit for those would be the same more or less as the valve body used in them was pretty much identical. Transgo makes a correction kit for that series , their PN is SK-44-55E and Superior makes a single one covering them as well, their part no is K4R-5R55E.

thanks glacier :)

beauj my reciept from the local transmission place from when i had it rebuilt

Thanks Chris, inh was the member that I was asking for.

The E4OD is the big monster that comes in most big 90's Ford trucks. The Lightning uses the E4OD. Good luck,
