Yes, hopefully it is the 1354 t-case (which it should be) Direct bolt in and you can even use your stock rear driveshaft. You will have to cut a hole in the floor for the shifter to come through. You may have to get a new front driveshaft though..

I have a 1354 manual T-case in my '97 explorer that i got from a ranger

how do i find out if its that t case?

Can you post a pic?

The front output of the case (for the front axle), does it slide in and out or is it fixed in place?

1354 = fixed in place
1350 = slides in and out

im not sure i beleive u have to open the case and remove the snap ring for it to come out

don't open it up, just grab the front output....if you can slide it out its a 1350, if it doesn't move its a 1354....the right case, sounds like you got the right one, go ahead and slap that thing in

That, i'm not sure about, i got a new one.

When you get it installed measure from the t-case to the front diff and then go measure the ranger one, if it is within length, it will bolt right in.

So you have a 1354, your driveshaft and the ranger driveshaft should both work.

His will not. The Ranger shaft may depending on what year it came out of.

He'll definately not be able to use his old one. His old one has a CV head on the t-case end. (starting in '97-01)
