Simmons says my factor OEM temp sensors (2000 Mountaineer 4WD) are screw in type, and his T-stat housing uses clip in type sensors. He includes the clips but I'd have to buy the sensors.

Thought my sensors were clip in, but couldn't really see when I had the throttle body off. What sensors and where to buy?
Your sensor and sender are most likely the screw-in type. You can buy the push-in clip-style temp sender and sensor pretty much anywhere they sell auto parts. RockAuto will probably have the best price. Look up a 2002 4.0L SOHC Ford on RA's on-line catalog. My late production 2001 Job 2 Sport Trac SOHC engine has the clip-in sender and sensor. The screw-in sender/sensor were problematic so Ford switched to the clip-in style.
IIRC the clips that hold them in are sold separately, but they're cheap.
