I have the 5.0 in my ranger 4x4 and i removed the timing cover to put a new gasket on do to a coolant leak. The question i have is about the plate that is between the oil pan and engine. I got the gasket kit that came with the two small cork pieces to put on the oil pan up front. But the plate is no longer stuck down to the oil pan. Im worried that its going to leak oil their. Has anyone else ran into this problem? And if so what did you do? I was thinking i can try to just pry it up a little bit and get a little bit of gasket sealer under their.
