is there a 5 minute 2wd - 4wd conversion ?

I have a 96 XLT , 2w , 4w auto and 4w low..

I'm wondering if there is a quick full time 4WD conversion by switch or wire.

Reason , last year I found the kids doing donuts in the parking lot and first snow just fell !

basically I want to eliminate 2wd for the winter without changing the gearbox or big parts. can I do it by switch or rewiring what is behind the switch ?

Brown wire mod, but you don't want to eliminate 4wd, because it is bad to use it on dry pavement. In the winter, there is still dry pavement. You want to always be able to switch to 2wd, or it will seriously screw things up if locked in 4wd all the time.

As for the kids doing donuts, my advice is a big wooden board (JK, but seriously, full time 4wd only is bad)

We are talking about a 96 here- it has a front axle disconnect so true 2wd. The only way to stop donuts is to beat the children or don't let them have the keys.

Even if you could lock out 4wd it wouldn't stop the donuts. You can still do them in 4wd.
