today i was under my explorer and checking the u-joints,they were good..

when i pushed it up and down, the driveshaft moves. where the the driveshaft bolts to the transfer case, that round plate has play..so is their a bearing thats their and i need to replace it?..might explain some virbations.

if so then that must mean im low on my transfer case fluid...i never checked if it was low or not becasue i dont know what to check for...i can take picture if anyone wants a better understanding, just ask

any help or ideas..

THANKS.

Remove the drive shaft and check to be sure the nut on the flange is tight. I have seen them come loose and it will allow play in the shaft/flange.

There is a bearing in the case there, but you will need to split the case to replace it if it is bad.

Pull the upper plug on the back of the case to check fluid level. It should be right up to the bottom of that hole.
