The door handle stopped working a few months ago, and I just let it go because I could still open the glass and I didn't know anyone that could fix the door handle issue.

Well, now the brake lights are out and I can't change them without opening the whole rear door. I am sure there is a way to do so, I just can't seem to figure it out.

It has been a while but i thought i remember reading a while back about a member with the same problem. I thought the solution was to remove the inside trim door panel in order to get at the latch from inside the truck.

I did a quick search and came across this. I believe that should get you headed in the right direction.

Thank you for your reply.

I don't mean to sound like a helpless girl who does know how to work on vehicles (even though I really don't know how to), but those instructions made little sense to me. I went and looked and I am not sure how to even get the trim off.

Is there anyone who can break it way, way down for me?

My handle broke completely so i couldn't even open the glass. I had to pull the trim outward far enough to get my arm in there (couldn't get it completely off) and pull the bars running to each side.

You have to get kind of creative. Here's what I did:

With the hatch stuck closed, you can't access the taillights to change a bulb, and you can't lower your spare tire if you get a flat either.

I completely broke my exterior handle a few weeks ago, so I've just been using the interior one I made since I've been too lazy to fix the broken one.

i have a little plastic `cap´ on the inside just above where the glass locks in, from there i have opened it and opened my glass easily by pushing down on the latch, maybe it is possibly to reach down further this way and open your hatch
