i never wear a seat belt and thank god my 2002 doesn't do that...
I would spend all day trying to disable that thing...
wish i could help.
good luck finding that damn buzzer..

Its safer to wear it and here its illegal not to. However, you can probably find an old seat belt end that will plug in to it from a salvage yard (just cut it off). That should shut it off without doing anything to the vehicle.

Here's a way: wear the seat belt. It could save your life.

The dealer can shut if off. I think their is a way in the owners manual, you have to cycle the key and do some other stuff. I had the dealer turn it off in my super duty.

in florida it was illegal and also where i am now in Mass. but still can not get myself to wear it.

on my friends little escort we would just push in the little button that u push when u make the seatbelt come off.....if u know what im talkin about...its orange on his car.

Take off the toolbelt and wear the seatbelt.

There is a way to disable it, being that you don't wear, I'm not going to tell you how.

You can shut off your seatbelt chime, on the newer exs is in the manual.
But if you and your passengers do not want to buckle up, Ckk out the Darwin awards.
Seat belts are good Chit.
In my town, up on Mt Hamilton, four kids died today, rolled a Yukon down the hill, 1200 feet, all were ejected, none had belts on.
alot of young people feel that wearing seatbelts (mandated by law in my state) is an intrusion on there rights, thats cool, break your neck, bust your head, but please do not expect my tax dollors to take care 0f you for the rest of your life, wear your belts, the chime will remind you to do so.

Ok I am 3 years old haha...

I do not wear one because i had family that would have died in a serious accident if had been wearing the seat belt...
that is why I do not wear one but that is just me and i would recommend that people wear them all the time..

Yeah, the without the seatbelts they wouldn't have been seriously injured, they would've been dead.

had they not been thrown from the vehicle they would have all been dead instantly...

Guess I read that wrong. I really don't see how being belted in is more dangerous than being thrown from a vehicle.

they were all ejected from the vehicle and if they had stayed buvkled in they would have went down a 500 ft embankment and died that way...

Ah, and we all know the chances of that are huge!

i think there are far more lives saved from wearing seatbelts than not wearing them. very few accident benefit from not wearing a seatbelt. i drive a tractor trailer ans still always wear a seatbelt even though the chances of me getting hurt in an accident are far slimmer than in a regular car or truck

Your explorer is designed (based on goverment regulations) to help keep you alive in the unlucky event of an accident. While some people may survive because they were thrown from the vehicle, far more die. Your car has crumple zones, structural support memebers, and airbags that only work WITH YOU INSIDE. The moment you hit that windshield at 70 miles an hour all bets are off. I know people who died because they weren't wearing their seatbelts and still more who are only alive today because they were wearing them.

I don't want to sound like a prep but
NOT WEARING A SEATBELT IS STUPID

Besides, it is now illegal in most states to not wear your seatbelt. If you don't want to save your own neck at least save yourself the fine.
