Is this a good Setup? Tell me what you think

Nothing personal big guy just giving you my opnion on your post...if u weren't ready for one than sorry to hear that....RF is overpriced in stores if you shop online you will have a pretty nice surprise....and it is just common fact that unless you are getting a pretty nice deal... 200-600 isn't going to get you a badass system....but back to the audio wise....what kind of experience do you have with power tools and cutting wood? What kind of power tools do you have, and would you be willing to give a shot at building your own box????

Do you absolutely need two subs or would u like one 15"also....? You will find more will be spent on the amp than the sub and as someone else said...never underestimate the cost of wiring....the sound can only be as good as the source...and the source can only be as good as how it is transported...

I have a little experience with power tools and we only have a power drill that my dad lost so really we dont have any but my parents wouldnt mind buying some. I would defenitly love to bulid my own box and I've allready read the thread on how to build your own box. We didnt skimp on wiring we spend almost $100 on Tusami wiring. What kind of set up do you have playa

BTW.. I can allways sell my subs to my friends and get a good setup

Its right in my signiture it is a Digital Designs 15" (Model: 9015) and Concept 2400A 2400W Amp with a Phoenix Gold Line Driver and a Pioneer 8400 Headunit....if you want something like that ... 200-600 ain't gonna cut it....

i saw them running an ad for free installation, does it not apply? well if they wired it already its basically just plug and play. wires to box wires to Head Unit

Umm i didnt see anything for free instaltion it might not be in the reno store or just not for my subs and my X is not wired I would have to run the wires to the back

From what I've read on SiN and ECA your setup (specifically your sub) wouldn't be that great for a daily driver. I think for about $600 US for just sub/amp you could get a mad setup. I paid around there for a brahma 15 and a tsunami 1800T.

That is just for a sub/amp though. Then you might need hu/components/comp amp/wiring/box/deadening/alt.

And why do you feel that is not a good daily driver setup??? The truck is my daily driver and I drive it daily....who says you need to be cranking the hell out of it all the time....quality wise it suits pretty darn well especially compared to a lot of the smaller sub setups with less power or equal power...the DD subs are not just SPL nuts they are built strong so they can get u whatever u want......it hits clean and on note....so whatever you have seen may just not be setup right or they may be running a bigger box...my box i a 6cube...nominal loud box for that sub is 8....so as a daily driver which is usually based on sound quality and ability to drive with no distraction from major light dimming or your truck just shorting out it actually passes very well as a daily driver....in the explorer there was no light dimming at normal levels or even above normal levels stock alt and batt....and for the books i paid 800 for the sub amp combo....

Oh and btw daily driver also depends on the driver...look at expo...does that look like something you would call daily driver...i would...but would you???

Daily driver = more SQ oriented. It doesn't matter if you have 50 subs as long as they aren't one note wonders, or you are tuned really high.

Hmm.. I guess they were talking more about the 9515. I don't know if they are comparable. I just did a search though and some posts say they are alright. I coulda swore I seen a post bout them being SPL oriented. Guess you would have more experiance with them :)

You do need to get rid of the 6x8's and get some nice components though. :p

i would not go with audiobahn as stated earlier. from the stuff i have heard from them, they sound horrible and require far to much power for them to sound decent. personally i like rockford fosgate or alpine. the adire shivas are also really good subs, my friend had 2 and man they hit hard.
if interested i have 2 systems for sale, mainly because my friend messed up my order on one of them. i have one that includes 2 RF punch HX2's (dual 4 ohm) and a 10001bd amp. i also have 2 RF HE's with a 400S amp with a box and wiring, which im only lookin for about 200 plus shipping. only the HEs have been used, but they still hit like they are brand new. the HX2's have never been hooked up or seen outside the box.

Hey fixxer how about i get rid of the whole truck lol....already did that one...i now have a Durango that was the setup in my explorer...the 9515 is a bit more extreme than the 9015 and is quite the more popular sub these days....and i guess our views on what can be daily driver are just different simple as that....cause when it really comes down to it....it depends on te driver...

Just because it is capable of pumping crazy SPL numbers doesn't mean it is bad in SQ

I just installed 2 12" Pheonix Gold octane r's in my buddies s10. I built him a 3 cube ported box (after all displacements) tuned to 35Hz. We have it running off an old kenwood 250 watt RMS amp and it hits clean, hard and even makes my teeth virbrate. The subs are 250 watts RMS each and i'm looking for a nice 500-600 watt amp for him right now (can't wait to hear it then). He payed alittle under $300 canadian for both 12's. For a first system i think these would suit u well.

I would highly recommend building your own box though because prefab sh*t sucks. Theres a saying that its 90% install and 10% equiptment.

Ya i bought the pre fab box because it came with the set but when I get some time I want to build my own custom box
