is this motor swap possible????

Does anyone know if it is possible to put a 3.0 vulcan ford motor in a 2003 ford explorer 4wd that had a 4.0 v6 in it...???

The days of the back yard anything will fit motor swap ended with the introduction of the ecm controlled everything. Anything is possible with enough money.

to avoid timing chain related problems, I dont want my 4.0 motor dieing from timing chain related failure without warning.

Oh, trust me you'll get plenty of warning. If you were to consider doing something like an engine swap, wouldn't the 4.0L OHV make more sense? Not that installing the 4.0L OHV would be all that easy?

Thats what people are telling that I will get noise at cold start and also at around 2-3000 rpm range while accelerating but I have heard stories of them breaking on the 2002-2004 models without warning and ruining peoples engines... ..
