I recently bought a fusion 12" sub and enclosure. It is usually $150 and it was on sale for $45. So I bought it, but when I get to the register, the guy tells me it's actually $19! So, needless to say, I was really ecstatic.

Anywho, here is my question. I need to know if this is what I need. I'm on a budget. Trying to see if I can get a "system" for $100-150!:D

This is the sub/box I got. Just didn't get this kit. It's 400watts and 4 ohms.
I am wondering if the amp above will work for my setup.

I know I still have to get the wiring kit.

Thanks in advance.

Not more than $100.

Hey, sweet you get free tweeters as well! Crap ones probably!!!:thumbdwn:
I am gonna get the 600 one unless someone else can recommend anything.:D

my two cents, i think the jensen amp would be the one to go with. it's all ready putting out signal at 4ohms which will match with the fusion damn good. the fusion isn't going to be a huge power handler, but it should get the job done and fill out the music.

looks liek a good sub/enclosure for a beginner. congrats

Yeah, especially since I just want enough bass to add to the music. Not blow the doors off or shatter any windows!
thanks.

Look at the RMS rating of the Jensen amp, that being 160x1...

Is that bad?

I just bought it.

if he's just wanting to fill out the sound, that'll be more then enough. especially for the subwoofer he has. if he was going to be powering a high end sub like a kicker or alpine, yeah, maybe that's weak. but for the fusion sub and enclosure he has, he should be fine.

so no, that's not bad. it's not to terribly loud, but if you're just looking to finish/fill out the sound, it'll work. my last enclosure was 2 12" subs, and i had it bridged, so it was putting a max of 500w, and it was plenty good.

Well, for the money you paid on the Jensen, you could pry Craigslist it if you decide to get something else, and break even

I just bought it.

...

Both amps have cons against them.

The clarion doesn't look that much better, and he'd save a lot. If he's new to the audio area he won't be able to tell the difference between the wattage.

The profile amp would blow it. His subwoofer is a 400W MAX, the profile puts out 480 rms when bridged. First time he cranks it up, boom.

Plus the fact he's all ready bought the other amp.

guess I need an amp again!!!

They emailed me and said they didn't have it in stock after all. So, I need to get another one!

Which one is again the question!

if ur gunna do it do it right the first time go all out dude

Haha used that fusion amp before that usually comes with that package.. to be honest it was awesome. I used it before my friend got his car, then he took it back, and still uses it today. its survived 2 car accidents so far, blew two power transistors on the first one though, that was a huge $3.20 to fix....

Id just stick with something that can do 200rms for that sub.

I just want enough bass. I'm already mostly deaf in my left ear. No need to completely blow it.

I think this is the amp kit I need!
