Is this the blend door actuator?

Never found the source of it, and it still happens. I replaced both blend door actuators (and that was a HELL of a lot of work). It made no difference at all. Still makes the creaky noise, still get lukewarm air out of the driver's side vents, winter and summer.

I have a 2003 Explorer Limited with 150K miles and the electronic dual temp controls. I am getting the same creaking/groining noise when moving the temp between hot and cold. Another symptom I am getting is that sometimes the a/c would blow cold and sometimes just a little cool. Any help on identifying the problem would be very helpful.

gsma... did you ever figure out what the problem was?
