Issue with overhead lights

So my 2019 ford explorer brand new has an issue I just discovered.
Not that i really care but i cannot get my overhead interior lights to turn on when I push the button while the vehicle is in drive, it has to be in park. I dont think I have ever seen this issue before.

Also my lever for the brights when pulled towards or pushed away when the acc is on but not actually running makes the vehicle beep as if its turning something on or off??

any ideas before I go *****ing at the dealer ?

Are you referring to the map lights or all the other interior lights as well? That would fall under "Demand" lamps.
As for the vehicle beeping, it is likely just a warning that the lights are ON and the vehicle is OFF.
