- 1997 Mercury Mountaineer
Hey guys, I just bought this 1997 Mountaineer today for $1,000. It's got a few cosmetic issues, but it runs and drives perfectly, is fully loaded, and needs nothing but a good cleaning and some minor repairs. I've owned an Explorer before, and pretty much know them like the back of my hand, but I need help with a few things.
First, my drivers door does not like to unlock after being locked, I have to forcefully turn the key a few times to get it to unlock. I thought it might be a seized motor, but it does move the lock up and down, I'm assuming not far enough though.
Second, and this one has me stumped, the locks have a mind of their own. When you lock or unlock them, they lock and unlock a few times, for example, I can hit unlock, and they will unlock like 3 times and lock again.
Third, none of the windows work, but I can't find out which fuse/relay controls them, it's not listed in the manual.
And finally, the AC/Heat both work, but only out of the rear ac vents, no matter which setting I choose up front, it only comes out faintly, it comes out the strongest through the foot vents.
I would appreciate any help, and thanks again!
