Ok so for starters my rear driver side wheel had a ton of play in it, so we narrowed it down to the hub. Replaced the hub assembly now there's not as much play but if i grab each side of the tire and push/pull there is some play in it still, and periodically after taking off from a stop there's a nasty "screeching" sound coming from it. Almost like really bad grinding from the brakes but more higher pitched. Does anybody have any ideas of what i should look for? Been down to 1 vehicle this week and it's been a huge burden, i was hoping the new hub assembly would've did the trick but that doesn't seem to be the only problem.

If you are push/pulling by grabbing each 'side' of the wheel (not top and bottom) it is a sign of a bad 'toe link' or 'tie rod end'. It's the same part, depending on what parts store/mechanic you talk to. It's a long rod for alignment purposes that goes from the back of the knuckle up to basically the center of the back end of the truck and mounts there.
I am assuming you have an Independent Rear Suspension when answering your question.
That part is the only one other than the wheel bearing that would give such noticable play.
I'm assuming when you say you replaced the hub assembly, that includes a new wheel bearing.
As for the aweful sound... I'm sorry to hear that. Not sure what that is.

Sounds like your tie rod needs to be checked. Also make sure they changed the bearing with the hub. Have to assume they did but....stranger things have happened.

As for the screech you should have the e brake checked. It all gets taken apart to do the bearing and hub. If it wasn't put back together right it could be the culprit. Could also be the dust shield got messed up I during the "repair." Dust shield gets taken off to press out and in the bearing and hub. Or should have been taken off at least
