Hello to all you good people:
I am a new member and my registered name is stainless steel. I don't much about repairing cars but have great interest on learning how to. I currently own a '96 Ford explorer, V6 4.0 engine with a busted radiator. I just got a replacement part from the junk yard. I need some help on learning how to install it myself. this will be my first project if I can go through with. Can anyone help me with any information that will help guide me through the installation process?

any help will be grately appreciated.
Thanks

First, welcome to the site. Second a radiator replacement is relatively simple. I would encourage you to purchase a repair manual like Haynes.

You have to drain the coolent, it is easest to remove the lower hose from the radiator, then the upper hose, and any transmission hoses. Next remove the fan shroud, it will set over the fan you do not take it out. I believe that there are two bolts on top of the radiator. It should slide out out. installation is the reverse. If I were you I would consider using a new radiator. Explorer radiators dont last long. If you do a search on this site you can find them mail order for around $125. Good luck.
