I've been spraying penetrating rust eating stuff on all the bolts for 2 days now, I have my tools, the shocks are here and pick up the leaf-springs and shackles tomorrow morning. I've studied my Haynes manual and the forum of course and I think I'm ready. Wish me luck. I'll post pics and a write up tomorrow.

Wait, you mean to say you're not going to be at RC tomorrow?

RC? I've been rehabbing and high on pain meds lately. Fill me in!

Uggghh!!! Thanks for the link. It looks like I'll have to wait for the next one. I hope everyone has a blast and doesn't break too much stuff. At least I'll have a better truck for it next time. And hopefully a better body as well.

While, I'm finally done. Well, mostly. I still need to replace one shackle, but that will have to wait until I can take my truck over to my friend's shop where I'll have access to a sledgehammer, an impact wrench and some military grade high explosives.

Needless to say, this project while fun was a huge PITA. I broke a shock bolt and torqued the other so much I didn't dare use it. There were other little fun happenings as well, but I'm finally finished. My ex rides great, sits higher and is much improved.

I had a scary moment when I had it up on the jacks stands though. Every time I looked at it, I started thinking, boy it would look good with a 3" lift and some 33's. Bad Jeff, bad, bad, bad Jeff!
