well we were goin to a freinds house to drop all the cars off and to load up and go to cookville in the x. well right bofore i got to his house (they were in fornt of me with two behind me) i looked in my rear view mirror and i saw smoke and i was thinkin there went the tranny again. it left a a whole quarter mile of transmssion fluid. all of it was forced out of the belt housing and that really ruint my night. but i went and got it today i put new fluid in it and cranked it up and it would hardly pull it. it immidetly started to pour the fluid back out. i have never seen one do this. it is the fouth touque converter and it was the second rebuilt tranny

Dang, I say forget about the SAS for now and get a new 5-speed in that thing (or a different auto)

If you do decide to replace the bell housing bushing, remember to use that expensive front pump realignment tool on the pump's gears.

well i have another engine and 5speed. so i am gonna swap it all. the engine needs some work so ill swap it all now. its just weird it all just blew right out and fast. the car that was behind me had little red spots on it

The front seals on these bell housings are quite popular for this problem. Read some of the posts in this forum about front seal leaks. If you pulled out the torque converter, and saw that the hub was worn out, then I would recommend replacing the bushing as well as the seal. As a temporary fix, I've used Lucas stop leak to swell the front seal. It's only a temporary fix until you pull out the transmission, and reseal it. I've used this Lucas stuff many times, and it has helped a lot. I would have been stuck 85 miles away from my house if they didn't make this stuff.

i know but y spend money when i can just get rid of the prob that this one has had for a while this is the third tranny and its gonna get thrown away. it i just dont have time to fix it and then go back and do a 5speed swap. i have a full parts ranger with a engine and 5speed i bought to steal for my x

Maybe you should post a listing for the old engine, and transmission on this website. I'm sure that somebody might buy it for spare parts, or possibly just to rebuild, and save as a spare.

i also have a a bit of spare parts for a al4d and i newer thought of that. i might have to do that. i wanted to do the sas and the swap all at the same time but now the 5speed is first. i still need someone to buy my old lift
