Hey people...

I picked up a '93 Explorer as a winter/daily driver, it's bone stock, has a tad above average km's (254,000) but is in pretty good shape. It's my first truck, and first ford, I don't know much about it so I guess thats why I'm here. I've had it for 3 days and have enjoyed plowing through snowbanks and muddy fields.

So what are the explorer's weakspots? Tranny? Balljoints? These motors seem to do alright, although even the 4.0L seems a bit underpowered. What type of rear differential do these have? This thing does pretty effortless donuts/brakestands I found out(in the wet), and its suprisingly controllable if you dont switch directions.

Anyways, here's my main car, its a 1990 240SX KA-T. It ran a 12.44@118 this past summer with a 2.2 60ft ;)

It's a great car but its terrible in the snow and is quite raw to drive so I enjoy driving the exploder half the time.

I forgot to add that I work for one of the largest aftermarket parts distributors in North America (Mopac Auto Supply) so I have access to cheap parts. Where should I start the modding? Mopac is a Canadian company, we move quite a bit of product, over $100,000,000/year and my store stocks a few hundred thousand dollars of strictly performance parts for cars and trucks. Let the modding begin!
