I searched but seems like i dont search specific enough, but all im asking here is is there a reset code for the Premeum JBL audio once its taken out of vechicle, like an anti theft type thing?

I always thought this JBL CD sounded excellent, but it was removed years ago . I just put it back in recently , and putzed with the plug in connectors, but it wont work. The lights on it worked at first but they dont work now either after i played with it.

Didnt really do anything with it, just took the front off to see if it was dirty (read here on another thread) and made sure the connectors are tight.

Friend of mine says you have to recode it once its taken out. Is that true? How is this done? Or is there something else wrong with it? All i ever did was remove it and store it for 7 years.

why do you want to put it back in? did your aftermarcut one quit on you?

i replaced my stario because i thought i toasted the factory one. because the lights on it worked but no sound. the sterio i bought dident work in either.
It turned out to ba a fuse for the JBL amp. so i would check all the fuses in the cab.

How do i check the fuse in the Amp? Is the amp in the back under side panel where woofer is? Tried to pry off that panel once but broke a few of the plastic fasteners so i just left it.

the fuse is in the drivers side kick pannel. it is fuse #10 and is a 15 amp fuse. or it is also fuse #5 and is 20 amps they are both for the radio

The aftermarket radio was stolen 3 months ago.

I took the JBL out again today, and took some of it apart, just to look.

Everything looked fine, but other than no broken wires or scorched solder or circut board, everything looked fine.

I did a test on all the plug wires and i have power so power is getting to the unit. I did manage to pull rear panel off, checked and all wires to amps looked good and were plugged in.

I put it back together and now at least the illumination on the unit works when i turn the lights on, but no go on the unit.

Its a sony unit, so I think ill just bring it to a Sony repair place and see what they say.

if i were you i would check the fuses first before i take it in. when i thought mine went bad the lights would work but no sound would come out of the speakers. then i replaced a fuse and it worked again.

I checked all the fuses under the dash, and they looked good. But does anybody have a diagram of what fuse goes to what?
