JBL premium sound harrnies

hi i have a 97 eddie bauer it has a JBL sound systeam . I am trying to install a after market stereo and i need a special harrnies for it i no ford used to on there premium sound systeams install a second speaker line that was hidden incase of a switch over like this does any one have a idea if my truck does and if so were and what it looks like please help i need music thanx.

If you're thinking about the old amp bypass harnesses that were hidden in the old Tauruses, etc- there is not one in the Ex. You have 2 real options- get the JBL integration harness, or scrap the whole system and run new speaker wires altogether.

I just ran into the same problem in my limited with JBL rear tuner. I ended up going to the old audio shop I interned at when I was in trade school. They had to order a new bypass harness that runs from the head unit all the way back to the rear amp above the wheel well as well as a new antenna cable from front to back too because the factory one would not fit the headunit. Only issue is, you will disable the factory sub it you do this. I wanted to change mine out cause the cd changer stopped working. The sub was blown too. Just an FYI too, if you choose to keep the stereo the way it is so you can keep the amp/sub and the sub blows, a replacement would have to be 6.5", 4ohm single voicecoil.
