I have the JBL system in my X... Whats the output of the JBL amp? Im thinking that if I get a good headunit.. something that runs 20RMS and 45 peak it will probably be as loud (if not louder) than the factory amp?? am I right?

Anyway... whats the factory amp run?

the JBL amp puts out 4X15watts rms. but the worst part about the factory amp is the distortion. if you install an aftermarket headunit and bypass the factory amp, it will play louder with much less distortion.

thanks for the info for right now all i can afford is the headunit (girlfriend is the value of a new Amp ) But I wanted to make sure it wouldnt be much quieter.. but thats even better.. louder, clearer, and inexpensive for me.. Im probably going to get a kenwood next weekend.

make sure you remember to bypass the factory amp when you install the new headunit. or else you will still be powering the speakers with the factory system ( = distortion)
