I just bought my explorer and when I get on the interstate if my speed is faster than 55 and I push on my accelerator to speed up a little it jerks front to back. It also does this if I am going up a hill and need more gas to maintain speed. Any ideas?

Could be a fuel filter problem or possibly throttle position sensor. I'd start by pulling the codes. Fuel filter shouldn't throw a code, but TPS will. When was the last time the plugs/wires were replaced?

I don't know I just bought it. Now it also idles fine when I start it but after I drive it when I park as long as it is in gear it idles around 1000 but when it is in park or nuetral it idles around 1700-2000. I saw some other posts on how to fix that though. I think I will give it an oil change, spark plugs and wires, and fuel filter and treatment and see how it does.

To do the passenger side plugs and wires, go thru the wheel well.
