The 8 ohm? Very good. So wire them all together in parallel and you will get a 2 ohm load on the amp. There are a lot of good amps out there that will give you 500 watts RMS at 2 ohms... A monoblock for 4 subs is just fine, you could use the JL 500/1 if you wanted, but shop around and see what kind of deals you can get.

well i sold 2 of them at school today to this kid...i still have the other 2 and plan on hooking them up. what amp should i get to power them? i already have a rockford fosgate 200m, could i get another one and hook them up so they both power the 2 subs

i would say a good amp for low cost, and still has enough watts for it is the kenwood kac-729s. bridge it and run the 2 8 ohm subs in parallel to give you a 4 ohm load. this will be around 150 watts rms to each.

or you could hook one amp up to each sub. dont know how many watts the 200m is tho.

I don't see how you are figuring that... He has 4 W0s.
Sticking with the Kenwood amps, you could use the KAC-X520, which puts out 500 watts x 1 channel at 2 ohms at 14.4 volts... But it looks like Kenwood rates all of their amps at 14.4 volts, which is fine, because that is what our electrical systems usually run at. However, getting an amp that is rated at 12.5 volts might be a better idea because invariably you will be running something (headlights, AC, etc) besides the amp, which will decrease available voltage to it. If you get an amp that is rated to put out 500 watts at 12.5 volts, then you are pretty much guaranteed that you will always get at least 500 watts out of it.

Check out Orion, JL, and Audiobahn for amps. There are other good companies, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. (I just know there are more) :)

Ray,
Read the posts again..............the story has changed to only 2 WOs.

"Well don't I feel like a horse's patoot" :D
This is what I get for scrolling right to the bottom. This week is midterms week at school and I had a test yesterday and two tomorrow... My mind is fried :)

So yes, I guess that other amp recommendation will work just fine!

well im tryin to get an amp setup that would hit hard but would still be pretty cheap 250 and under...cuz its goin in the ole Bronco II that im tryin to fix up.

well the kenwood is 250 canadian, so that should do.....

Wrong. Guess again.

Kappas handle 350 WRMS.

Thanks for playing.

Yep

You are correct and I am wrong on the infinitys. WIll play again later;) As far as getting an amp under $250 there are plenty of brands out there but getting 2 for under $250 is pushing it. If your not afraid of Ebay look there. Are plenty of good brands, new stuff , on there for cheaper than retail. Have you factored in wiring yet? Thats not goining to be very cheap either. Dont buy a kit unless you get it under retail if you buy the wires seperatly you get better deals. Most of those kits come with stuff you dont need or not long enough wire. If you havent thought about it yet go here www.darvex.com really nice guy will tell you everything you need if you tell him what you got great prices and even if you dont buy from him at least you know what you need.

lol sorry i already have one 200M
