CEL happened right before you started looking at the smoke. ill look it up today and see what it is

haha, I'm just being a turd. Sounds good dude! It'll quiet down as the top end gets oil and burns off the assembly lube. CEL was probably your 02's, mine threw 02's on the first and second startups (aside from the stupid ones where I left sensors unplugged)..

EDIT -- well maybe.. mine throws 02's every time I drive it now cause they're shot and rusted to pieces..
 












Gotta be O2's. Let the problems/headaches commence!! It's gonna be all funky to drive the first few trips out lol..

most likely, even more so since the o2 in there were a combined two sensors, not made for running on just one.
yea its gonna be wierd. ive been driving a low pickup. even the 97 i drove up there felt weird from being higher up lol

ill be taking videos today during the 'break in' stuff. im sure therell be more smoke from the paint.

The lifter arent really that loud in person,they actually sound real smoth for a first start.we primed it but the lifters had leaked down by time we put rockers on.it WILL get even quieter! Im not a 100% so just keep an eye on it,take the cap off any steam shut it off immediately!! Ill try and post it but dont know how to post here,pm me your email address ill send it to you
 






Ps im not taking any credit for the motor till it runs for a couple weeks!!:rolleyes::D
 






i watched the other vid, "whats that bonking?", "just the intake sucking air". it was the intake, but it was prob from hitting the belt lol
any steam, even from the paint, shut it off?
or do you mean steaming radiator due to the fun not being hooked up yet?

No it just the intake,mine does that if it doesnt start right up.no just steam out the oil fill or dipstick.going to bed dont fell like messn with youtube and it would take forever from my phone
 
























Know why that switch tripped!!when i was sawing off that ypipe and it got crazy and was bouncing all around and smacking up against the floorboad,must of tripped it.yea these videos are the VERY first start not after you had ran it for awile then got your camera! !and with no hood!!cough cough Brandon! !:)

all this excitement i keep forgetting, so ill get it in text this time.

just to be sure: oil cap off?? refill fluids from last start, start and run for 2mins at idle, refill fluids, start and run at idle until at temperature and shut off, cool down(3hrs or so), start and drive like an old person.

correct? check for any fluid problems also(mixing)
 






Cap on, periodically check,ok to take cap off wile running to check.all else sounds good!;)zzz

63. Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) signal too low TPS
24. Intake Air Temperature (IAT) or Vane Air Temperature (VAT) sensor out of range - IAT VAT

2nd set:
14. Ignition pickup (PIP) was erratic - Ignition Systems
63. Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) signal too low TPS
95. (O) Fuel pump: open, bad ground or always on - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits


sensors, easy fix, just reseat them most likely. fuel pump was prob thrown when the inertia was popped. tps is what? you seemed to know itd come up, but why?


i wont do a koer test until its broken in lol
