So today I went to a pullapart near me to get a replacement plug for the stereo in my Ranger and when i checked the website this morning they showed a 99 Mountaineer having been put on the lot YESTERDAY !

I jet down there and the truck is almost untouched. I got...
Complete rear end, disc to disc in spotless condition.
Complete 5.0 Long block with all accessories.
Complete 2wd AODE trans
EATC system with ALL sensors

The truck was only 100,000 miles old and had been hit in the front setting off the airbags and was in really nice shape - better than my donor truck.
The grand total for all this ?

$300.

And I STILL don't have the plug end for the stereo, it had been cut.

It done at junkyard light speed, myself and a mexican junkyard guy got it all out in three hours. I hired him because here just wasn't time before they closed - also I tend to try and keep everything intact, undoign all hoses never cutting anything... much quicker his way snip snip smash. I just made sure everythign I wanted stayed not screwed.

I am taking the engine down to a friend place today, it's not even for me.
Ironically the engine will be going in a slammed 51 Mercury Led Sled.
A Mercury motor in a Mercury - perfect.
I almost thought about keeping it and doing a full 2wd V8 conversion to my Ranger - it was the perfect donor, but since I just had it's trans rebuilt that would seem silly.

The EATC I will probably use in my Ranger though.

OK I am headed back to that same junkyard either tomorrow or Tuesday to pick up some bolts I dropped and a couple of the EATC sensors I missed - anyone want me to check for anything on that mountaineer ?
It's center console was still complete aside form the armrest when I was there.
The upper console was sitting on the ground.
I know the amplifier is gone.

nice job scruff keep up the good work
