So since my reply was posted in a thread that hasn't been replied to in almost 2 years, and your vehicle has been modified significantly since...let me ask my question in a new way.

Hi Macknos, I know you haven't updated this thread at all in almost 2 years, and your vehicle is now lifted so my question doesn't really pertain to this thread at all...but that Westin Bully Bar you have, when you lifted your truck...did you have to modify it at all, or is it still in the factory location?

If you find a better thread started by Macknos to which your question belongs to, then I can move your question there - 'till then, dont hijack a thread that is specific to one part like measuring interesting on rock sliders, or you can take it to PMs.

i just left the brackets at the stock location if you look at the "under the knife" thread then you will see how low it sits. it didn't look bad but just not really a big enough bar for me. now i have a hunter bar on the mountaineer which honestly i don't know how you would fit it on if you didnt have a body lift. look into the hunter bar on ebay its cheaper and really well built.

Happen to have a link to one?

I typed in "hunter bar" and couldn't find anything :( I'd be very interested in checking one out!

Thanks :)

Nice looking Mounty. I just have to ask, how did you darken your tail lights and sidemarker lights? That looks awesome. Or are they aftermarket?

you just need to clean them with a degreaser then i sanded then lightly. after that do one light coat of niteshades paint. you will see from the first coat if you removed all the grease off. if the paint pushes away in an area then you need to sand the light some more and clean it again. then spray another light coat. once thats dry spray a coat that gives it a good covering. then just keep spraying coats till you get it as dark as you want. let it dry about 15 minutes between coats. then let them sit and completely dry after the final coat. once its dried take a can of clean coat and spray one heavy coat but not so heavy that it runs. once the clear is dry then just wetsand the hell out of it. once you get a nice smooth finish you will be on your final step wax and buff it to a irror finish

Thanks alot, I was looking after I asked and found that stuff. I just want to smoke mine some and take that bright yellow and red look away. So one or two coats will do that huh? I think I may look some of that stuff up. Yours look great, well the whole ride does. Oh ya, one more ?. Did you get the louvers over the taillights to come off or did you tape them off and paint in between? I bet that was a pain of so.

The Chrome covers pop right off just be careful they will crack if you bend it too much. I like seeing behind me so I taped off the reverse light. Also if your reverse like is still clear most cops won't touch you
