I got a good deal on a 96 xlt, 112k, mechanically great, but a rough body for $900. I plan on painting black so the body's fine with me. I don't know much about cars so I have a few questions about upgrading.. And I'm a Explorer newbie so if someone would help I'd appreciate it.
1. I'd like to throw some side steps on the truck, and maybe a grill guard, can i mount any types to the truck, or do they have to be specialized to fit 96 explorers???
2. I'd like to get the 3 inch body lift kit, do you need special tools to achieve this, or could me and my uncle do it in his garage?
3. And how the hell do i go about changing the grill on the truck? I dont think i can easily swap them, thats why i ask.
4. If you have any other upgrade advice please share.
