I almost did a bad thing this past week and that was to trade my 96 XL in on a 05 Subaru Forester. What happened to change my mind was the real lowball trade in offer by the salesrep at Subaru. He started at $800 and after nearly two hours of his bs, he crawled up to $2000 and said that he was being overly generous. Jerk. We got out of there happy to be still in possession of our Explorer. Took it into the Ford dealership later in the week and they replaced the thermostat, put a new flange or something like that on the exhaust which was roaring and $600 later, we are happily driving the truck with 119,000 miles on it. We love the truck and hope it goes over 200,000 miles.
