Hi all,

I am planning on replacing my head gaskets as I am losing coolant and have yet to find a leak. All the parts are coming in, but I was wondering. If the heads on there are original; would it be worth it/wise replacing the heads if I can get them both for some 300$ in total?

It's a 91 ex with the 90tm heads which as I read, are prone to cracking.

It seems that, on these engines, it is more common for the heads to crack than it is for the head gaskets to leak. If this were mine, I would just plan on replacing the heads until you know for sure that they aren't cracked.

Yes, that is what I've heard... the heads I can get are 95tm which would increase the compression ratio from 9:1 to 10:1, would this a) be a problem for the rest of the block, and b) affect mileage?

Of course I am not sure if the heads are cracked, but I cant afford to find out then, and having to wait a week or two until they are delivered. Would all-in-all be a wise decision to upgrade?
