Just got some bad news

I'm talking about doing the manual swap. Possibly.
I’d do it if the opportunity arises, IE a manual linkage pops up. The auto is decent, and can be very reliable.

the E shifts arent that bad, and worst case, can change the range by hand

Oh I'm talking transfer case unfortunately the 2nd gens probably going up for sale I would swap the trans hell I'd even swap the motor for an ohv I have all the ****. To do it I just unfortunately have to much on my plate right now.

im quite sure mike is talking about the manual vs E shifts t cases, since the E shifts commonly had an auto mode (at least 2nd gen im quite sure 1st did not)

Yeah I meant the shifter and linkage to the case, which isn’t always easy to come by in a hurry.

I'm in no rush lol the transfer case works that's all that matters brand new transfer case actuator too.

With a new motor it’s be last on my list of upgrades. If it doesn’t have one, I’d get an on board air compressor and tank setup before a manual case.

Already got that planned

91-94 uses 1354 t case no control trac
No “auto” 4wd thank goodness just good ol 2wd, 4hi and 4low

The shift
Motor on the back of the t case is rebuildable back then, can make them last half million miles! I rebuilt my original 1988 shift motor 3 times before I finally went to a manual 1354 t case because my new headliner did not have provisions for the overhead push buttons (1988)

I meant auto as in electronic shift, not ControlTrac

Just confirming this so there is no speculation
