Just installed HIDs.. getting dash error msg! :(

hey guys, i just installed DDM hid kit for my 2007 ford explorer.

i'm new to this HID scene and dont know much about it...

I know theres different kits out there that wires differently. i purchased my kit with the dash error msg canceller..

on my kit, one OEM bulb harness plugs into the wiring harness that came with my hid kit. (the other OEM harness is not plugged into anything)... although i have the Dash error message canceller installed, i'm still getting a msg on my dash stating to check my left/right high and low beams.


i have done a search and noticed that some people need this harness and others didn't need it. i was wondering..

shouldn't the error message canceller relay remove the error msg? any idea?



please let me know..




P.S. i read somewhere that i could buy resistors or capacitors and wire them to my OEM harness. anyone got info on this? (what kind of resistor etc)

Hey, I had the same thing when I did my retrofit, what I did is I wired up... the Load Resistor Kit resistors http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-...tion=DispPage&Page2Disp=/tail-brake-turn.html (scroll down a lil bit) I have two for each OEM headlight plug, wired in parallel I believe, and then mounted on some sheet aluminum which is then screwed into the car (to dissipate heat, they get incredibly hot) this has worked for me, now I only get a "check left high beam" when I come off my highs, but I think thats because of a diode that I used in the wiring as well. (to prevent the low beams from triggering the high beam solenoid, since I wired the two wires together)

Edit: BTW, the bulb canceling kit that DDM sells, is for when you do not use a wire harness, which you said you are using.
