- 1998 Mercury Mountaineer
Hi everyone!
I drive a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer that was given to me by my grandpa before he passed away. It runs very well and I have kept it that way. I got it around 5 years ago when it had 94k miles on it and I just recently passed 100k during a road trip to some hot springs (I mostly take the train to school so I don't use it heavily).
A funny story, my grandpa had a "friend" who would always take advantage of his kindness, and one day he convinced my grandpa to trade one of his trucks for the Mountaineer that he eventually gave to me. The friend thought that he was getting a killer deal since the other truck was newer. Well, a couple weeks later the engine blew up and that truck became worthless. He tried to get the Mountaineer back but failed. Justice served
Here's some pics of my Mountaineer. It originally had an ugly maroon trim that I painted black in my high school's paint booth. If you'd like to view the whole painting process, let me know and I'll make a post for it.

Anyway, I am slowly making upgrades to the truck. I added a touch screen stereo with Android Auto, the Sony XAV-AX100. Also added a new subwoofer. Added a bull-bar which I have somehow managed to already dent. Fixed the air conditioner all on my own. I have lived out of the SUV for a semester of college just for fun. Lots of stories to tell.
