1998 Mercury Mountaineer

I picked up a 1998 Mercury mountaineer with 169k my cousin has owned since new. she took good care of it.
Anythign i should look for, replace or watch?
Mint shape and loaded v-8 AWD
paid $1800 for it Family price lol

I would get all (trans, axels, etc) the fluids checked and changed if needed.

yes change the transmission filter and drain the pan and converter.
Drain and fill the AWD T case
Drain and fill front and rear differential

169K miles = she likely needs some work! filters, fluids (coolant/brakes/steering)

Check for rust under the dog legs, undr the mercury trim, running boards, check the fan for cracks, check the sway bar bushings and links, likely needs ball joints, hubs, brakes, etc soon. Basically spend some time under your truck looking around
