K&N Filter

I purchased a 2003 Sport Trac about 4 months ago and first thing I did was install a K&N air filter. I never did notice an improvement in performance or fuel economy. One thing I didn't do (that was just recently brought to my attention) was unhooking the battery to reset the computer. Is that necessary, and if so, is it too late now to do so and see if I notice any improvements?

I have one, i never reset the computer, and the second i drove it after putting it in i noticed a very nice performance increase. In your case, resetting the computer is worth a shot anyways.

Disconnecting the battery just speeds up the process.
Your Ex under normal conditions will " relearn " on a regualr basis.
