you can easily piece that together at your local autozoo or something for WAY under that hefty 370 bucks. WAY UNDER!

hmm, maybe, maybe not

have you seen the K&N tube? the diameter changes along the length, which would create a turbulence, with greater velocity.

There's more into an intake than just a tube--;)

there are no K&N CAI for first gen explorers, for 2 yeras (since i got my ex) I have hoped they would make one.
Get a KKM

for what he wants he can piece together that near exact thing, for something around $160

the whole intake system on stock gen1's is actually pretty good. just replace it with a k&n cone filter for the prettyness and a new filter

he means replace the stock filter and airbox with a K&N Cone Filter, it looks good while also giving you a small (if any) performance gain.

The only intakes, I know of, for the 1st gen are are from Ifab and KKM

found this one, http://www.kustomz.com/054094.html

it is just the replacement for the box and filter, not the whole intake tube, i might do this one for mine. I have read some posts from others that said the air tube on the old ones isn't too bad.

Yea, that probably won't fit a '94. That website is wrong, they don't make a K&N for first gens. The best you can do is a cone filter setup mounted on the stock tube, the link above is one of the best options for that.

the kkm is a rip off. it consists of a cone filter($50 k&n from summit) and a maf to filter adapter($10 off ebay). they are making a 30$ profit off of you and probably using filters made in china($5 off ebay).

as for a new tube, like he said the stocks not terrible and you can piece one together out of pvc and stuff from autozone. you can even paint the PVC to make it look sweet.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

that on looks like it could fit. Though I don't know what the plastic spacer is for.
if the holes don't line up, drill new ones!

I'm a little confused, is a 94 a gen 1 or 2? I saw a post on another thread that said gen 2 was something like 91 to 94.

thanks!
