Well I have this one meager picture of my Explorer so I thought I would at least share it. I have a 1991 XLT with a few mods. I should have a few more pics in a few days so I will add them as well. This picture is about a 2 months old so It looks a little different now. I guess I really just need to go get a cheap little digital camera. I am a traditional photographer so I'm not quite sure how I will like it.

My mods are as follows:

-James Duff 2.5" lift
-Michelin LTX AT 31's
-Warn Manual Hubs
-PIAA 520 Ion Fogs
-Pioneer DEH-7200 HU
-Pioneer 3-way 6X8's
-Bosch +4's
-Stainless Steel Brake lines
-Bilstein Shocks

Thats about it. Nothing too drastic. I'm sure there's more but I can't remember them.

Nice looking ride! It looks just like my 93 XLT without the body lift. I was thinking about puting a body lift on myself is it very hard to do?

Link to my rig:

Check it out!

Ahhh, I don't have a body lift. Just a 2.5" suspension lift. But from what I have heard, bodylifts aren't really hard, just really time consuming.

Damn I need a digital camera. I don't want to feel like an idiot though and have to finance one:rolleyes:

a suspension lift? what's that? with the 31's did you have to have the speedometer redone?

Yeah it is a suspension lift and not a body lift. No I did not redo my speedometer because it is not really that far off. When it says 65 Im going about 71. So I just drive a little bit less than 65. I plan on getting 4.10's soon so when I do the speedometer will be about right.

I got ahold of a digital camera today and took a few pictures. I'll link them so I know they'll work.

Now you can get an idea of what my Explorer looks like.

What part number is your blisteins shocks for the rear? I have a 4" lift and want to install bilsteins. Do u think they would work?

Sorry for the delay. I forgot about this thread. For the rears I used standard height shocks and mounted them to the swaybar mounts and removed the swaybar. Then flipped the U bolts. But that is with about 3 inches of lift. Not four. I think they should work though. There seems that there is enough extra travel that 4" would work.

so you don't need the rear sway bar?

No. It's small enough that it doesn't really do anything except limit articulation. And my springs are stiffer than stock and the Bilsteins are pretty much as good as a swaybar.

nice explorer.

so do you always drive without the swaybar? or do you put it on when you are going to drive on the highway?

I used to have both bars off but after a while it was like driving a Baja truck so I bought/made some disconnects for the front and put the swaybar back on. I had a local off-road shop make them for me. I wish I had a digital camera so I could show everyone because they are pretty nicely made. Another thing, I drive on the highway about 50 miles everyday and not having swaybars was fine. Actually I thought it handled better because each wheel was able to move up and down at will. But going around corners at mid to high speed was a little annoying.

Thanks for the compliments.
