When trying to recharge my A/C I tested my pressure with one of those guages that comes in the recharge kit. I was at about 125PSI and was way in the red on the guage. But more than one person has told me that that doesn't sound like too much pressure. My better judgement tells me not to keep filling, but I don't want to not put enough in. WHat do you guys think. Keep going or Give up? I so badly want to get this problem solved befor it gets too hot!

125PSI on the low side? Your AC would probably be totally destroyed at that pressure. It sounds like you hooked up to the high side port. 125PSI is waaaaaayyyyy too much on the low side. It should be no more than 60psi on Explorers. Really, closer to 55psi.

The low side port is on the passenger side near the firewall. It sticks up and has a black cap.

I just checked the pressure on the low side (again) and it is reading 65PSI. I'm still not getting cold air. How do I check the compressor, clutch etc? Is there a thread on how to check all this stuff? Ive tryed a search but cant really find what I need.
