Thanx.....

Also...

So what did I miss? you *****ed and complained about no money to pay off your debt and now you built up an 89 chevy while apparently in major debt......gotcha

Its not even built yet.... still sitting where it was for a while... as said... you may want to read a bit b4 posting.

so what did you decide??

you keeping it or what??

OK, looks like the truck is staying, re-fied the house and got some equity out of it, enough to pay off the 2 cars.... replace all the **** that was stolen from me, and even build the chevy which is in the process of being built now so that I have a truck for when I take the Skunk off the road to get some work done on it next month.

Thanx for all your input.

I'm glad you decided to keep it. With the time and money invested in it, you would have never received fair market value for it. :D

Glad to hear that things are working out for you. Just takes time and faith.

I voted keep it because the finance company definitely isn't going to be looking to take it back...at least not without screwing you over.

Try and refinance until you get it down to an amount you can deal with, play the finance companies against each other until it comes down to a workable rate.

If you have to off it- try and get enough so it doesn't hurt too bad.

I know I'd feel like **** after putting that much work into mine if I had to let it go...

Ummm... dude.... its being paid off in FULL, no more finance companies here. altho I am thinkin about gettin a mustang financed.. lol... crazy I know... but I love the new cobras.

Remember that you haven't really paid it off, you've just rolled the debt into your home. Granted, that's a better kind of debt to have but it is still debt. Try to think of it that way and you'll be less likely to run into the same issue again.

I'm facing that same type of situation right now... I am taking the profit from one house and instead of putting it down on the new one I am paying off some debt that is less desireable. My tendency is to think "yippie I paid off my credit cards", but I have to remember that the debt is just moved into my mortgage.

One of the biggest traps for people who do what I am doing is to act like the debt is paid off and then not pay attention and run the cards back up.... or buy a mustang ;)

Well the situation here is that my truck was at 22%, the wifes car was at 24%, and the house was at 11%, the new loan is only 7%.... so our mortgage payment that we were paying b4 is almost the same as now, only there is now other loan payments to make.

That's a good deal, but don't get sucked into the whole "now I've got more money to spend" trap. I've been there before and it's a black hole that won't let go.

Hold of on the Mustang for a while. You don't really need it right now.

Put the "extra" money into a savings account and leave it there.

In our situation, we finally have a really good income. But we are actually spending less than before. We don't want to fall into that money trap again. We are stockpiling money in the bank like mad.

Yeah, I really dont think I need another vehicle at this point, becides, winter is coming and I wouldnt be able to enjoy it as much. we have 4 vehicles as it is now. I just couldnt believe that for so little we can get out of such great debt, bottom line is that we add $50 per month onto our mortgage and extend it 2 more years, that gets rid of all the car loans, credit card debt, and clears up our credit reports, and get some extra cash for pre-winter house repairs. now all i have to worry about is the mortgage payment and paying off the new livingroom, along with standard household bills which shouldnt be any problem.

Going from 57% to 7% is a great thing.:D

I've been outta the loop, just got back from Maine...

But damn that was quick between the time I read the post and posted a response you got it all worked out!

I had one of those 22%'ers...got it down to 6.9, and a drop that far is a definite relief...good deal, good luck! :)

And I know this isn't the thread for it, but- I thought it drove good on the road??

not as good on the road as I want it to be.... anything over 60 mph gets a bit rough, especially with worn as hell tires.

We close this friday, on monday my title gets sent out to me... I can hardly wait, finally, almost debt free....

Ahhh, to have money come in one hand- and stay a while!! ;)

That does sound so good. We are sueing for the accident I was involved in lastweek. With that, I should be able to pay off my x. It will be so good to have no car payment for a little while.
