Kennesaw Mountain Bumper

I am actually getting ready to buy a front bumper through them. The front bumper have these options:
Grille Guard
Light guards (can only be used with the grille guard)
d-rings or shackle brackets
front hitch receiver
recessed turn signals
and it will hold a winch as well.
The base price for the one I am getting, the Wincher, is $260. Trying to save my money now so I can go ahead and get it! Oh, and the best part is that they can build it to compensate for the gap between your body and bumper if you have a body lift.

it'll be nice if that bumper was available for the newer model as well...... or is it?

Dre where did that tire carrier addition come from? How much? I like retaining the factory bumper. It looks real nice.

sorry for all the confusion........ I bought this carrier from Tomken Machine .... and I don't even remember how much..... something around 200 bucks...... here's the link to the page where you'll find it:

ummm does this swing out or down? how do you open up the back?

that's the one. You might want to reinforce the factory bumper somehow.... but it's not really necessary. When you get it and before install brackets that screw to the bumper might have to be pounded a little - to the shape of the bumper..... top plastic cover off the bumper might have to be ditched but you can always cut it a little and put it back on....

I wish I made pictures of every mod I ever done to my truck - it would help a lot now to others....

Man, that is awesome, i might start saving my money for that baby! One question, are you able to use your back glass with out swinging the tire out?

Happy trails!!

Dre, I just got off the phone with a buddy who also bought a tire carrier from these guys and he said he basically had to pull it apart and reweld it all. Was yours well made or would you agree about their quality?

Dre, I'm assuming that question is directed towards me. If not, you get an answer anyway! I do know that they make them for 95s, and am almost positive they make them for 96s+, but I am not sure. I am going to get one for a 95, the guy at Kennesaw said that the bumper mounts for a 94 and 95 are the same just cosmetic difference, then get the Perrys conversion front end and put that bumper on. When I get the money of course.......

Timing is everything

I figured I'd post a link to Kennesaw Mountain Accessories---- Dead Link Removed

I'm going to Kennesaw GA on April 7 for a week so I'll stop by and check it out.
:chug:

Kennesaw makes them than? coollll...... That tire carrier was made by Tomken Machine.... that's a different company.... Kennesaw is good though..... but I'll have to call them to make sure that it will fit my "X".... bumper on a 98 mounts are up front not on a side like older versions.... I think you'll be able to go around it thogh... I'll have to check on mine...

The guy at Kennesaw said that the bumper mounts are the same for 94s and 95s, but I swear that some people I know have a 95 and the mounts are up front. But with my memory they may have a 96. Anyone know for sure?

I know for sure that my 98 has mounts up front...... I also know that there are holes on both sides.... wondering if I can use those.... have to check later.

BTW, that Tomken spare tire carrier - I didn't have to re-weld anything on it. After a few months of usage it was as good as new.... but the bumper needs to be reinforced especially if you're gonna carry a tire 33" and up.....

Kennesaw - the latest

now here's the latest that I got from Kennesaw...... I simply contacted them with my ideas and here's the message I got from them:
****************************
The Multicarrier for your (...) for the Explorer is $400.00. This includes the bumper with "D" rings, mounting hardware, and tire carrier. Available options for the Multicarrier include a receiver hitch $65, jack carrier $25, CB antenna mount $10, gas can carrier $30 each, and the bumper configured as an air tank $90. There are also several lighting options available for the Multicarrier as long as the air tank option is not selected. The bumper is available with a set of recessed backup lights $35. It is also available with a set of recessed turn/stop/marker lights $35 or with LED turn/stop/marker lights $115.

The Wincher for (...)your Explorer is $300 plus freight. Available options for the Wincher include a grill guard $65, light guards $45, "D" rings or shackle brackets $40, receiver tube $65, and a turn signal/marker light set recessed in the bumper $35. The turn signal set can be replaced with LED lights $80 ($115 total). The bumper is also available without the winch box, deduct $60.

*********************************
so go ahead guys see what works for you. All available for older and newer Explorers and I do believe that they make corrections for your body lift as well....
why go looking somewhere else when you can get a front and rear bumper for a great price?

BTW - check their web page for more info: Dead Link Removed

or simply contact me for more info

specs are cool! anybody have a pic of this bumper on a EX? old or new....

You may want to double check on the base price of $300 for the wincher. I was reading some past posts on here and a guy got quoted $260 for the same bumper. I asked about this price and the guy apologized and said that it is $260, not the original $300.

I have edited my message to only include pertinent information. Price quoted to me was $260.00 for a wincher for my Cherokee and $300.00 for the Explorer. All the items on the list are options.... in addition to the original price. Price for the "X" might be slightly higher due to different mounting system used perhaps??

nobody has a EX pic so here is a toy.

Maybe its $260 just for 90-95 Explorers then, and $300 for later models. I just noticed Dre that you have a 98, and they do use different mounts. That would make sense to me.
