Key fob not working

Explorer Pete, waskly might be on to something. Maybe there is an issue with the remote fob itself. I bought 2 remotes from eBay and they work great. They are aftermarket but work awesome. Here is the seller I bought them from: mykeyless.

They are shipped complete with a new battery. Maybe worth a shot?

You know I'm just messing with you!!

I kinda figured out what you meant but couldn't resist. :p:

kinda figured :)

but i couldn't read it. and if i couldn't the op probably couldn't make heads or tails of it also..

After getting the truck running (only 1 set of wheels), the pressure is off, now I'm trying to figure out why everything worked befor, and now only 1 remote can be programed, be it #1 or #2 remote, not both from the same program.

I had the same issue with my Eddie Bauer when I purchased a new fob and needed to program it. The dealer programmed the new one for me, but could also only get one to connect (they failed to tell me that though). So I got home and the new fob worked fine, but the old one no longer did. I then sat there for a few minutes cycling the key trying to get both to connect, but only one would. I gave up after about eight tries and said I would mess with it later. I then drove the Explorer to the grocery store and came back home and decided to mess with it one more time, and sure enough both fobs connected on the first try. I have no idea why it did that, but it also has a tendency to randomly stop working as well, so that neither fob works for an hour or so, and then they'll both work just fine later if I just let it sit. Quirky, annoying, but every Explorer I've owned has had its own issues...

Was searching on how to fix my fobs and came across this thread. Worked great, thanks for the help!!

I have a 2011 Ranger XLT that had the same key fob problem. Just wanted to thank the guy that said he disconnected his battery ground cable, reconnected it and then got it to work. I did the same thing to my Ranger and I am back in business!

Peace!
