Keyless Entry Code

Hey guys. I bought an 03 Explorer XLT with a keyless entry system but I do not know what the code is. I contacted the previous/original owner but she never used it and it was not in the manual. Does anyone know where I can find the code because I heard it was written/etched inside the vehicle. I do not want to go to a ford dealership and pay money to get the code or to reprogram..

Hey, to be honest I think your goin to end up either goin to the Ford Dealer, or try one of those ebay ads. If u search around ebay, there are a few sellers who know how to re-program your keypad. When you search for it, it'll be specific to your vehicle in this case the Explorer. (Goes for about $14-15)

I'm almost positive though that there is indeed no place in which the code is etched unfortunately. Good Luck!

search here on the forums. there is a place it is located on the truck. i dont remember exactly where it is but i know i saw the answer to that here on the forums.

yup- Steven's post has a link that links to a link to a link of teh post I was going to put up. You don't need to reprogram or pay that dude on eBay to tell you to pull off a trim panel. He makes a sick amount of money from searching forums- one of my buddies bought an auction for the code to his Sable and was actually linked to a thread at the TCCA forum just like this one.

but wait, what about earlier models?? My '00 Mount doesn't have a working one and i was just gonna either go to the dealer or do they ebay thing thats why i recommended it......anyone?

As for the 2nd gen... 00...I believe its somewhere in the drivers rear panel in the back where the jack would be. Thats where the ford dealer found mine... for free too
