keyless entry question

Hi we have just bought a 2004 Ford Sport Trac and it has the keyless entry pad but the dealer who sold it to us didn't have the code. We made an appt at a Ford Dealership to have their tech get us a code but we're wondering if there's a way we can do this ourselves. Anyone out there know?

Found it. Just to add to the instructions ... From the outside looking in through the passenger side window, its located under where the vent cover sits and is on the right hand side of the sticker and very difficult to read. Thanks so much for saving us our hard earned money!!!
