I had to take my 01 Eddie Bauer in b/c something was draining the battery. It turns out the GEM had gone bad and was drawing a constant voltage. I had it replaced but now the keyless entry does not work (nor does the keypad on the drivers door). Everything else seems to work okay. Since the GEM controls the accessories, I was thinking it just needs to be reset. Anyone else ran into this type of problem or have any ideas. Thanks.

All you may need to do is re-program the remotes. This is a simple thing to do.

1.) put key in ignition
2.) turn key on and off 8 times landing in the on possition. The doors will lock and unlock indicating that you are in program mode.
3.) press a button on each of the remotes that you want to open your Ex. It does not matter which button. The locks will lock and unlock with the press of each button. This lets you know that the remote has been programed. All remotes must be done at this time.
4.) when all remotes are programed turn key to off.
5.) test remotes.
