hey all,
i'm looking to get keyless entry for my 91 explorer. It already has power locks and all that, just needs a reciever and a transmitter. anyone know what the cheapest i could get one installed for would be at a best buy or circuit city ?

thanks,
Jeff aka Lamah

Try Summit Racing (www.summitracing.com) I got an alarm system with remote control for my '92, and it was pretty easy to install. If it has a starter disable, it can get you a 10% discount on most insurance plans too.

i acctually have a kit right now, but its a pain to install. between needing relays and needing a power cable run to it, its just not worth it. so i'm gonna try to find one of the 99$ installed deals.

thanks anyways, though,

hrmm, not bad. I think i'll still see if i can find the 99$ type, might as well save the extra 10+shipping =/. I cant really afford it yet anyways. But i will definately keep it in mind. have you ever seen one of these used before ? i'm wondering where exactly it would plug in. cause i cant picture it.

thanks for the info,
Jeff aka Lamah

no I haven't seen this particular one used before, but I imagine that it is very similar to factory. Also I would pay the shipping charges just because I like the satisfaction of doing it myself. I have done business with Explorer Express and they are great people to deal with.

still ... money is money and i dont have a job yet

I saw one in jc whitney for 29.00. I have no clue what the installation consists of. I was planning on getting it for about 3 yrs now.

hrmm ... *shrug* ... installation is a pain if you dont really know how the care is wired. i'm just gonna stick with a professional install or the one made for explorers
