can anyone tell me where i can find the code for the driver door keypad? i looked for the card in the manual but i guess the last owner took it out.

Not sure if 1998 is the same, but on my 1996, it is in the compartment that holds the rear windshield washer fluid.

Both responses are correct. Open the rear compartment with the jack in it. Get a flashlight and pry the compartment cover out with your hand a little and shine the light up into the compartment.
The keyless entry control module in mounted almost under the driver's side rear seatbelt. You'll have to look up in there but you should see the silver control box. The code is a sticker on the side of the box.
