Keypad entry

Ok friends I need some help. I have a 96 XLT with the keypad above the handle I located the Rap unit and got the code off it I tryed it and it didn't do anything. the power locks still work from the inside button I have no lights on the pad where should I start looking?

Quick test to see if the keypad work at all is to press the last two buttons at the same time and see if it locks all the locks. If it doesn't then the keypad is bad or you have a bigger problem (short, loose connection, bad module.....)
