Want a keypad on an EX w/o one. Owners manual includes keycode. Is it as simple as drilling and finding the right wires to tap? Tried searching, couldn't find info. Thanks.

prolly just need to get a new door and hook it up.. maybe trade at a junkyard and throw in $30 or so? ..
it might be easier.

i THINK you need some other stuff though.. i dont think its plug and play

the panel where the pad is can be removed and replaced with one with a keypad. you shouldn't need to replace the whole door

Orrrr...you can buy one from Ford that just sticks on the vehicle. I put one on our Focus. It sticks on the door and works just like your remote key fob. No wiring, no drilling, cost me $85.00 from my dealer. The part # I bought was 7LSZ14A626BA. It should work with any vehicle that uses a Ford key fob, but I don't guarantee it.

thats a neat idea lol but honestly i see them as a waste. i might have used mine once and that was when i first programmed my code

Lock your keys in your vehicle once when you're far away from home and it pays for itself.....

hide-a-key ;) lol i got one do you?

i use mine all the time when i wanna run out and grab something from the cargo area and i dont have my keys on me.

it's also a nice features if ur at an amusement park or sporting event and you dont want to bring ur keys in with you; you just stick your keys in the center console, lock your doors and used the keypad to unlock them. Me and a buddy did that in his '97 Ex when we went to a ballgame last month.

I've honestly only ever used my keypad once.

I left the keys in the ingition and had to step out of the truck real quick to grab something I'd forgotten. My friend wanted to be a wiseass, and he locked the damn doors, so I was locked out. Had to use my keypad to get back in (with much swearing, I might add).

EDIT: he was in the truck, so it wasn't like we would have been screwed otherwise. I'd have just been significantly more pissed until he decided to let me in.
