That sux big time, hope its nothing major:(

"The more you play with it...the bigger it gets!"

Thats just wrong! My mind isn't in the gutter! Watch U talking about?

You might want to check your hubs. How did you "lose" 4x4? Does it not go into the 4x4 mode anymore, or is the front simply not pulling anymore?

iamtodd, i knew somebody had to have a dirty mind here...:p

crankcase, the light comes on but 4wd does not engage at all, whatsoever. wheels do not spin, i can't feel it kick in at all, but i haven't had a chance to really look for problems because 1) its covered in muck 2)its dark out so i'll wash it tommorow and try to figure out what the problem is. any ideas? i got my frame hung up good, would it have happened from the impact that caused that, or from something else?

If you have the electronic transfer case, you might have smashed the shift motor on the T-case. It mightb also need cleaning, there are plenty of threads around here on how to do that....

yes i do have an electric trans. case, thanks for the advice...when i get these threads i'll post them on here for other people too.

Where is Lucerne?

its about halfway between bangor and ellsworth 15 minutes to both.

cool, I'm down in the Farmington area, but I've probably driver pretty close to Lucerne since my girl friend has family in Machias - not too many people from ME on this site!

yeah i'm sure you travel close by. maybe on route 9 up towards calais?? there aren't many modded explorers around here, although one was at my school last semester, a lifted 1st gen sport, looked pretty good but i never got to talk to the guy. explorer lovers like us are few and far between here

update: 4wd works flawlessly. don't ask why, because i do not have any idea. i havent gotten the chance to get down and look at it but i tried it the other day and, well, all four rubbers were pullin.

i'm not going to ask questions and just take this as a blessing :D

Fantasy, do you go to school at Orono? I'm a 3rd year Mechanical Engineer, and I've actually met Kaised here before, sold him a lift or something that I bought and couldn't use. Since then I've installed a 4" lift maybe you saw mine....

nope, i havent seen it around, trust me i would know seeing that!!! i go to school at husson right now, not sure yet where next fall...

your X looks really good though. my friend has a 4 inch body lift on his 95 wrangler, its white, has a sticker on the back that says "redneck performance", he's got a light bar and all that good stuff. anyways he goes to orono too, but i hear there a lot of modded jeeps up there so he might be hard to pick out...

during school do you travel much outside of orono? if so where do you wheel at?

I'm orig. from Bangor, went to school at UMM.
Lucern is a nice area, I spent many summers down at Green Lake, just past Lucerne, and of course several weekends in Acadia.

I'll be headed up to Maine in July, not sure if I'll have a lot of time, mainly for a class reunion but it will be nice to get back. Just a bummer most family has moved away, or passed on. Guess I'll do the reunion, visit some gravesites, and catch a round of golf with my uncle.

I think the new proposal for the license plate is finally looking great (http://www.bangordailynews.com/editorialnews/article.cfm?ID=400055&/cfid/6985591/cftoken/89806143) , and they're also working on a proposal to save the Northern woods (http://www.restore.org) and setting aside a reserve around Baxter St. Park that will be larger than Yellowstone and Yosemite combined.
L.L. Bean is also purchasing 33acres for kayakers (http://www.bangordailynews.com/editorialnews/article.cfm/ID/400589/cfid/6985591/cftoken/89806143 ) WOOHOO Prob not in time for me to bring my boat up. ;)

Good times... if I wasnt married, making good money and tied to a big house here... I might just move back. heh

Is your friend running a 4" body lift and little tires......if so, I know it.....and not in a good way, there is this one that we make fun off because he's had a lift but no tires since freshman year, looks pretty terrible. That guy needs tires bad. Anyway, we wheel on the studmill road up in Milford a lot, not a bad area. We've found pretty good mud this spring.

byrd91, i have seen one jeep must have had at least 6 inches of lift and like at the most 30 inch tires...and it looks ridiculous. my friend has 31" mud terrains, so i doubt it is him, they look good.
i usually hunt stud mill road at least once or twice a year. can pretty much do whatever you want on those roads ;)

sunbum- i live just by phillips lake so not too far away from where you were...since you spent some time down at green lake you must know about the infamous rockslides!! we camp there every saturday night, and if you remember the road to get there at all, we usually have somebody drive in ahead to look for cars and we "rally" in a little bit :D

ikes - you people might actually know where Stuben, ME is!!! (thats a first) - Around here, most people don't even know where Bangor is!!
